Our Company History.

Pass It Down began as a storytelling platform for families.

In 2015, Chris Cummings founded Pass It Down after he saw his mother, Barbara, battle MS and early on-set dementia. Chris wanted to create a way to help every family capture and pass down their memories and stories.

In 2017, Pass It Down expanded to start helping libraries & museums around the world share their stories.

In June, named to the SDCE 100 Top Supply Chain Projects list by Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine. Moovit Logistics becomes an approved third-party logistics provider for international services as as part of the Amazon Solutions Provider Network (SPN).

In 2017 and 2018, Pass It Down was named as one of the 100 most innovative startups in the world in the Startup of the Year contest and finished as one of the 5 most innovative startups from over 15,000 competitors in Daymond John and Miller Lite's Tap The Future contest.

In 2019, Pass It Down was selected for one of the top three accelerators in the world, Techstars.

Techstars is an American seed accelerator founded in 2006 in Boulder, Colorado. As of 2019, the company had accepted over 1,600 companies into its programs with a combined market capitalization of $18.2bn USD. Fewer than 1% of the over 17,000 applicants are accepted.

In 2021, Pass It Down raised $2 Million to expand it's work in cultural heritage and to build the first NFT Marketplace for Museums.

VentureSouth, Cultivation Capital, Techstars, Red Stick Angels, and Acadian Capital Ventures joined in on a nearly $2 million seed round to launch Iconic Moments, an NFT (non-fungible token) marketplace created by the team behind Southeast-based Pass It Down. The marketplace is designed specifically to provide museums and cultural institutions with a new digital preservation method.
